While I have been making a (modest) living from interior design and architecture, fashion has been something I have followed since I was a little girl. I blame Tim Blank's "Fashion File" and my mother's evergrowing collection of editorial mags, for my initial obsession with all things high fashion. That is where I first learned about the lovely designs of Mr de la Renta.
The fashion world lost a beloved contributor this week, and I thought I would dedicate a post to him. While everything he touched seemed to embody old Hollywood glamour, his gowns in particular were a girl's ultimate haute couture daydream.
He seemed a kind man, and his family and friends will be in our thoughts and prayers this week. Below some of our favourite images of the designer, his homes, and his enviable gowns and designs.
